This trek covers the higher reaches of the
Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary in the South West
Sikkim and covers the Khanchendzonga National
Park as well. This trek offers spectacular view
of the Khanchendzonga and the Everest ranges.
The trail is rich in floral diversity and
especially in spring, the rhododendrons are in
full bloom with their yellow, pink and crimson
bell shaped blossoms. The trek winds its way
through the source of two rivers, which
originate from moist grassy meadows. After Thulo
Dhaap, the trail climbs up to the Singalelah
Ridge and from Phoktey, one can experience the
sunrise on the Everest and Khanchendzonga peaks.
Trekking route passes through Singalila Range
bordering with Nepal from where one will have
the opportunity to see mountains of the the
Sikkim , Eastern Nepal and Western Bhutan and
Dzongri Area, Prek Valley and to touch the foot
of Mt Kangchendzonga- GOECHALA- 4,950 m. from
southern side.
